Our boys love to watch McGyver, a scientist turned secret agent, whose amazing deeds include:
- disarming a missile with a paper clip
- smashing a flare-launcher barrel and used it as rocket thruster
- using a mirror from binoculars to reflect a laser to 'sting' itself
- using milk chocolate bars to stop sulfuric acid leak
My 13 year old likes the show as much as my 7 year old. The difference is, one of them knows that half the things McGyver does are not quite as simple in real life. Still, the show amuses him. Another thing you should know about said 13 year old boy, is that he is very serious and mature for his age. Getting him to smile is not easy.
I really hope that this small gift I put together with random stuff found around the house will put a smile on his face Christmas morning.
It is silly and completely useless, but as long as I get a smile from him (and maybe even a chuckle) - it was all worth it.
